A clean and sparkling car isn’t only good for a show, in fact, it also increases the lifespan and the overall value of your car. If you own a car and do realize the worth of your hard-earned money that you spent on it, then you should keep it in top-notch cosmetic condition. Today, we are going to jot down some of the main do’s and don’ts of cleaning your car so that when you do so, you know you are doing it right.
Don’t Wait for Long
The dust, bird droppings and dirt can together weaken the paint of your vehicle which is why when you see that your car is dirty or full of dust, you shouldn’t wait for long and wash it right away. Experts recommend washing your car at least 3 times a week and as far as waxing is concerned, you should do that every season depending on the weather conditions.
Do Use the Right Products
Make sure to use the right exterior car cleaning products because using the wrong products can affect the paint of your car. You need to make sure that the products you are using will add shine to your car instead of making the colour of the paint look all dull and fainted.
Don’t Wash Your Car Under Direct Sunlight
Don’t wash your car when it is really hot or when your car is under direct sunlight. When the temperature outside is high, the liquid on your car will dry quickly and when that happens, spots and mineral deposits will appear on the body of your car.
Do Start from The Wheels and Tyres
Always start working from the top down and most importantly, wash your tyres and wheels first. Also, to avoid any swirl marks, make sure to use a back and forth motion instead of rubbing in circles. Your tyres have the most dirt on them so take your time and don’t rush while washing them.
Don’t Forget the Underbody
There is a lot of dirt and debris stuck on the underbody of your car. Unfortunately, a lot of people out there overlook the underbody and that’s a major mistake that you’ll be making. So, work on the underbody once you are done cleaning the overall exterior of your car.
These are some of the main do’s and don’ts of cleaning your car. So, follow all of what we said above and make sure to repeat the washing process at least two times a week.
